Unsubscribe

by Znethru @ 2008-06-25 - 11:25:19

As my 'Junk Folder' (in Outlook) approached 1,500 I decided yesterday to try to start unsubscribing to companies that keep sending me the stuff.

I spent about half an hour Unsubscribing - of course, keep in mind that it's not possible to unsubscribe from everything as not all spam contains an unsubscribe option (if found, this is usually at the bottom of the email somewhere in small print).

Anyway, after half an hour or so, I had got back to June 17th!

Unsubscribing to a lot of spam emails - not all of them - simply confirms to them that your email address is still active. Far better to just block them if possible, filter them if possible, or just delete it as soon as you get it.

That was my policy up until yesterday! Now I'm going to try unsubscribing from what I can for a month or two!

I will let you know how I get on!!

Hi Soy, unsubscribing is actually going pretty well and I am receiving far less junk as a result. Hopefully I've disposed of a conspiracy theory there. Tally Ho!
