Either the World is mad, or I am!

OK so I have got this slope in front of my house. This is called "off street parking".

Unfortunately once every so often someone parks right in front of my car making it impossible for me to drive off my slope and head off for an evening of debauchery or other.

One such evening not that long ago, this happened to me yet again!

I called the fuzz.

"Someone is blocking off my car again, can you do anything about it?"

Long story short. They phoned the person who was blocking me off. They must have been able to link up a landline (and possibly a mobile) to the car number plate I gave them.

Minutes later I was free to pursue the evening activity of my choice.

Tried to go to North London Go Club tonight but was faced with a matrix of solid traffic between Mill Hill and Hendon. As this was a non-essential journey, I thought rather than spending 1/2 hr sitting in traffic I'd be better off to turn around.

The traffic was actually slightly reminiscent of a Go Board position where we try to capture space by playing consecutive (or touching) stones in a row to secure square spaces. At least that was my thought as I drove home.

OK, well, I've hit the big 4-8.

I have had some unbelievable bad luck in my life.

3 gf's emigrated on me hence the single status.

I spent 5 years writing my Jazz Symphony for the world's #1 composition competition "The Masterprize" only for this to go bankrupt and lose its funding.

Just when it looks like I was going to enter Eurovision '09, my arch-enemy is going to get the gig uncontested.

On the plus side, I can think straight and I'm not struggling financially.

Also, '08 has been the best year of my life for many reasons.

I will be recording in Switzerland in April '09.

I am waiting for some massive news (but this could go either way).

I am at last on CD - in fact, on 3 CDs at the last count with more to come soon.

I have a sensible web presence for someone of my status.

I have had a frantic week. This was partly due to having many hours of plumbing work done as an electric loo was replaced here.

Next week theoretically should be calmer & I can look forward to resuming normality, such as it is.

On Monday I will try to join the Songwriters' Guild so that I can enter Eurovision 09 (I do not rate my chances (because of the red tape) so I might have to aim more for the 2010 competition).

Tuesday will see my debut at the North London Go Club. Thursday will hopefully be a visit to Hendon Chess Club.

Friday is a trip to Mill Hill Observatory and on Sunday I will celebrate my 48th birthday. Thai food looks likely.

Fortunately, I only put about 20% of my capital into IceSave and I now imagine it could be some weeks or even months before I see this money again and I also somehow doubt it will be "with 6.3% interest on the total".

Oh well, I might have to put off buying the new Piano for a bit then!

A trying day.

The day started pretty much with the downstairs loo & shower both being pronounced kaputt by one of the guys staying here.

My plumber is currently out on an errand trying to pick up the right type of electrical unit for the loo. This is quite a big job.

In other news, still waiting for other news - this is getting a bit beyond a joke by now.

Off to shoot some cards tonight with the pleasures of the weekend still to look forward to.

Have decided to take a day off (maybe two depending on how things go!)

Had a surprise lunchtime visit from Mr B which was welcome as he managed to de-rig my NTL/Virgin TV box which is meant to be being collected today between 12 and 6.

Have been doing a certain amount of admin. Placed ads in Loot and Gumtree for a 2 yr old orange Ikea sofa that's got to go as well as some stamps and coins I've got eating up space upstairs - nothing valuable, but good for a person new to the hobby.

I am hanging around for this NTL box to be collected and just now settling down to a bit of editing work for my Cello friend in Spain - this is nothing like as intense as actual composing and therefore I'm classifying it as admin.

I can hear the kettle boiling now, so better run!

Folks, I think I am beginning to crack the internet!

I am just on the edge of making a breakthrough with YouTube now. I've met some of the important people in the Classical Piano World who are posting there and today, two of them have agreed to play my compositions on their 'Channels'.

This is very exciting for me!

I also have a majorly talented 3rd person and a possible 4th person who will follow suit and start to play my work on the YouTube website!

If I can keep networking like I have done today for a while, things are going to turn a very Optimistic colour indeed!

I started to reassess my entire life last night, then I looked at my watch and noticed it was 1.20 a.m. so I went to bed.

Today I am wearing a black shirt, drinking green tea and about to walk into the Piano room.
